If elected, I will make the following my priorities:
I believe there’s more to the university life than just our degree. The chance to travel abroad, the opportunity to get involved with the residence life and clubs and the possibility of participating in athletic activities or student politics all enrich our university experience, yet we’re sometimes only valued with our GPA. If elected, I will work hard to ensure that you get the recognition that you deserve for your co-curricular participation, where you not only enhance your university experience, but also contribute to your university and community.
For years students have used past exams for specific courses as a useful study tool. Yet, past exams are not accessible to everyone. I will work to formalize the accessibility of past final exams through the creation of an exam database, a goal that many students have been working towards in the past years.
Moreover, I will work towards changing the release date of final exams to prior to add/drop date. This will ensure that students can control their own exam schedule and avoid unnecessary exam conflicts and complications.
There has been a trend at the university to use advanced teaching methods in the classroom. If elected, I will encourage the use of technology in the classroom and advocate for the addition of lecture recording facilities, so that lectures can be made available to students outside of the classroom.
